Where am I?: October 2017

By Susan Swan

There’s a long gradual downhill to the waterfront
Quick if you speed here the whole way
Takes longer coming from the N; from the County Seat
Winding from 41st on the boulevard, catching some rays

It’s a good camping ground so says the translation
A lighthouse, ample parking and a ferryboat dock
Prepare to duck Frisbees, be sprayed by shaking retrievers
This is a place to be let things go, to forget the clock

As you look out over the water at the islands
Take possession of your senses if sound
Hats off, helmets stowed and the smell of seaweed
The opposite shore hints a Hillary or Bill could be around

So tell me, Where am I? What city?
