Editor’s Note: With Sturgis being such a wild and expansive event, it is impossible to cover it in one coherent story. So, Thunder Press approached the rally by interviewing numerous individuals to get their stories. Look for a series of vignettes published online throughout September!

After eating some New Jersey-style pizza at Full Throttle Saloon and hearing off in the distance the brrrap pap pap pap of automatic machine-gun fire, we had to investigate. After driving down a quiet dirt road, we came upon a large white trailer owned by Bona Nox Firearms. Thinking it would be a hard sell to get the corporate overlords to write off shooting expenses, we asked if we could observe shooters letting off some steam on an abandoned truck and a few other targets. Owners Jason and Tammy Nygren were eager to show off their arsenal, which included almost every gun conceivable. Jason shot a modified M16 he called The Flamethrower. “There is no purpose for this gun. None what…so…ever. No tactical reason for it but watch these flames and tell me it isn’t fun,” he said with a smirk. For Tammy, she took out a Tommy, with an era-specific drum clip. “You can see why this was a favorite among mobsters,” she said.
